The Music of the Night

Date and time: 15/07/2008

Location: The Royal Citadel, The Hoe

Event details:

We're delighted to announce that one of the most popular events in Plymouth will be staged once again in July 2008.
There really is nothing else quite like this show in the Westcountry!
Presented by 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery in its home the Royal Citadel, Plymouth, Music of the Night will return for its ninth production. Its unique blend of a fabulous military setting and entertaining spectacle has been a winner with Westcountry audiences since it was first produced back in1992.
Music, song, dance, lasers, fireworks and gunfire all combine with the superb musicians of the Bands of the Royal Artillery and Her Majesty's Royal Marines and a cast of hundreds of talented local performers to produce a fantastic outdoor show, staged to raise money for local and military charities.
Each night, 5,000 spectators can be housed in the grandstand seating area. Large screens enhance the show and its growing reputation for stunning entertainment has led to an increasing numbers of visitors from across the country. Early booking is recommended.

Since Music of the Night started in 1992, nearly £500,000 has been raised for charity. In 2006, the event raised over £80,000 and donated to a variety of charities including BLESMA, KING GEORGE'S FUND FOR SAILORS, SSAFA and The Army Benevolent Fund.
We are delighted that The Herald has agreed to support and sponsor this event once again and also acknowledge the support of Plymouth Sound.
