Right from the start of his two hour show, comedian Dara O'Briain had the Plymouth Pavilions crowd laughing out loud.
Funny man Dara, pictured, famous for his role as presenter of TV's Mock the Week, was at the Pavilions on Saturday night as part of his latest tour.
The Irish comedian decided to go it alone without the need for a warm-up act, giving his lucky audience two hours of quick-witted, rapid-fire laughs.
Unlike some of the previous acts I've seen at the Pavilions, who tend to just regurgitate old tired lines from their comedy sketch shows, Dara spent the majority of his performance playing off comments made by the audience.
He ad-libbed his way through a variety of topics, including jobs, fitness, crime and the stress of moving home, including a few humorous anecdotes from his travels around the comedy circuit.
He included the audience in the majority of his sketches, at one point nearly persuading a poor, unsuspecting member of the crowd to run around the auditorium whilst he timed him.
He rounded off the night by thanking the many people in the audience who had helped shape the evening's entertainment.
Dara's show was moulded around his interaction with the crowd, and I think if I were to watch him again in another town at another venue it would be a completely different, yet still ultimately hilarious evening.
An evening of wise-cracking, unique entertainment, with Dara showing just what live comedy is all about.
