Bringing a Diverse Cultural Dimension
Making full use of its superb art gallery spaces and stunning new performance facilities, the university's summer programme brings a diverse cultural dimension to Plymouth Summer Festival 2008. An exciting programme of exhibitions and performances brought to you by Peninsular Arts' accomplished artists, community partners and University of Plymouth students will deliver a programme of diverse and inspiring events.
Taking place on 7 May 2008, 5 Men Dancing will showcase a night of dance created solely out of the synergy of events, ideas, accidents and occurrences of the evening. With a fierce commitment to pure improvisions 5 Men Dancing promises to invigorate the audience.
With conductor Simon Ible; soprano Katharine Fuge, mezzo-soprano Catherine King, tenor Joseph Cornwell and baritone Marc Boucher will delight the audience at the Ten Tors Orchestra - the Mozart Experience on 17 May.
Other university highlights during the Plymouth Summer Festival are an "Open House" on 26 May, allowing all ages to visit the university and enjoy interactive theatrical and musical performances which launch the Mutley Greenbank Community Festival. There will be opportunities to join in with artists and scientists during National Insect Week, become involved with sustainability events and witness spectacular arts degree shows coming to Plymouth for th very first time as well as graduation ceremonies on The Hoe.
