Sutton Harbour Festival Plymouth

The Port of Plymouth Yacht Regatta, the annual Plymouth Classic Boat Rally and a variety of on-shore activities come together to form the Sutton Harbour Festival. Based around Plymouth's historic Barbican, the event promises to offer something for everyone whether afloat or onshore.

The Yacht Regatta offers a full programme of yacht and dingy racng from 28 July - 2 August, all of which can be viewed from Plymouth Hoe.

Over 80 Classic yachts will be arriving in Sutton harbour on 1 August; they are best viewed from Quay Road and some will be open to the public.

The Barbican's cafes and restaurants will offer a warm welcome and there will be a variety of entertainment on shore, including a great selection of tradestands for the ardent shopper, and the annual fairground on Plymouth Hoe.

Pete Goss is re-tracing an epic voyage made over 150 years ago by seven Cornishmen who sailed a 37ft lugger, the 'Mystery' from Cornwall to Australia. Pete is re-enacting this voyage in a boat as similar to the original as possible, aptly named the 'Spirit of Mystery'. he will use no engine and navigate using only the sun and the starts. The Spirit of Mystery will be berthed in Sutton Harbour from 1-3 August and open to the public.
