The Big Screen

The Plymouth Big Screen in the Piazza is a fantastic addition to the City Centre and for the Plymouth Summer Festival we're making the most of the opportunity to expand the range and diversity of events on offer.

For 2009 the big screen features a packed programme of entertainment as well as live coverage of some of the world's most exciting sporting and cultural events.

Sporting highlights include the hugely popular live coverage of Wimbledon (June 22-July 5) and the Formula 1 Silverstone Grand Prix (June 20-21) when the Piazza will be buzzing with a range of themed events and activities to coincide with the coverage.

Big crowds are expected at outdoor film screenings including Mamma Mia (August 9), ballet and opera live from the Royal Opera House (various dates) and a flag-waving extravaganza to celebrate the Last Night of the Proms from the Royal Albert Hall (September 12).
